Monroe Axel Hayden (born 8 November, 1988) is an American actress, film director, producer and writer. She is known for her roles in Fox (2016 - 2019) and 365 (2017). She is also a business woman who created the Fox franchise and co-founded SkySoft Entertainment along as founded Wolfson Sound. She is chairman and CEO of SkySoft Entertainment LLC.

Early Life

Hayden was born to a costume artist mother and prop master father. Her mother is of Filipino ancestry and her father is of Spanish descent. She later moved to San Diego, California with her mother. Her father did not play a big part in her life. 

 

In 2006, she began her career as an artist and specialized in both digital and traditional mediums and was initially recognized for her Disney artwork. In 2010, Hayden graduated with a degree in Law and Society with minors in Anthropology, History and Art from the University of San Diego and even studied screenwriting, acting and fashion design. From 2006 - 2008, Hayden studied acting through participating in a number of student films and taking classes.

Career

From 2006 to 2011, Hayden participated in a number of student films but only a few ever saw the light of day. During this time she had also briefly worked as an action model for various international brands.

In 2011, Hayden started using her pseudo name, ‘Monroe Hayden’, to protect her identity and the identity of her family. When she joined the Screen Actors Guild, she used the same pseudo name and later that year, legally changed her name. During 2011, Hayden met fellow artists and entrepreneur's Brandon Teague and Xavier Haven. They worked together on the Daisy novel series and the three of them became great friends. Each member of the tripod, in the books, represents one of them but none had revealed who is who. By 2014, Haven sold the novel and its rights to Hayden and Teague in the event of his daughter's birth. Hayden and Teague then started their production company, Hayden/Teague and began developments on converting Daisy into a series. Teague died of a blood infection in December 2015, which left Hayden with the responsibilities of the company.

In 2016, Fox (2016) premiered in January. Upon the show's premiere, Teague's family requested the company name be changed. Hayden then changed the name to SkySoft Entertainment. Xavier Haven died of brain cancer in 2017, which left the Daisy series and all its characters in the hands of Hayden. Fox went on to complete four seasons, launching Hayden’s career and popularity.

 

After Fox’s second season in 2017, SkySoft released 365, an anthology series that focuses on a different character each season yet all taking place within the same year. Hayden played fallen rock star, Gwendolyn Fay. The show was not as popular as SkySoft’s predecessor, Fox, but it showcased the three lead actor’s talents and skills; 78% of the acting was improvised. She also went on to produce its second season which was highly unfavorable among audiences and critics.

In 2020, SkySoft was set to release two more series, first limited series, Mutant 5, in which Hayden was to play President Smith who promotes the inequality rights between natural born citizens and mutated one’s, which launches the end of the world. The second being, Sherwood, not to be confused with YouTube’s Sherwood, with Hayden playing Natasha Wolfe. Due to Covid-19, the shows were delayed.

Venture Capital

In 2019, Hayden purchased Thunderstorm Pictures Group for an undisclosed sum and became the sole owner, chairman and chief executive officer of the company. Later that year she had founded Dionysus Talent Management to help starting out talent find more roles in the San Diego area. In 2016, she had also created companies: Wolfson Sound and Hydro-Grafix Imagination Technology under the parent company of SkySoft.

 

Personal Life

Hayden lives in California with her cat, George, that she rescued in 2018.

 

She is a supporter of civil rights and is an advocate for issues such as intersectional feminism, transgender rights and representation, along with LGBTQ+ rights and representation. She frequently uses her social media accounts, mainly her Instagram, to spread awareness and voice her support for Planned Parenthood and the Black Lives Matter movement. In addition, she is an animal rights advocate and supports the International Anti-Poaching Foundation, and became a pescatarian in 2018. She is also an environmental advocate and supports Greenpeace.

Her support doesn't stay personal, she uses SkySoft to reflect her views on equal rights and representation in her writing. In 2018, she began to slowly transition the company's policies to be more environmentally friendly, fully transitioning by September 2020.

In early 2020, Hayden had been accepted to study Film and Media at Yale University.
